Protestors set up camp to disrupt Adani Carmichael coal mine project

“The time has come to take this community fight to the next level – to show Adani and its supporters that any efforts to build this project will be met with peaceful community action at the company’s existing and proposed sites,” the website reads. “Can you join locals from the area to help kick off the next stage of this historic fight?”

PROTESTERS have established a guerrilla camp in Bowen to train activists in ways to disrupt Adani’s activities as construction related to the company’s Carmichael coal mine ramps up. Sources say the “FIFO” protesters may target the Abbot Point coal terminal, machinery moving through Bowen and the mine site ­during the “Week of Action” from September 16-23.
